Getting to Colorado
Last day of Camp Thurman is Patriotic Day! Boys are excited, and Zane & I had a LOT to do....we left for Colorado as soon as we picked up the boys from camp. We tried to make it to Amarillo to stop for the night, but once we got there we decided to keep driving. We made it to Dalhart, but there were no hotel rooms. So we drove to Texline: no hotel rooms. We drove to Raton, NM: no hotel rooms. We drove to Trinidad: no hotel rooms. We obviously didn't plan ahead to reserve a room before hand. I called Expedia at 2 am and said where is there a hotel with vacancy? They said, "we have one in Colorado Springs". We took it and checked-in to our hotel room at 5 am. We were too excited to sleep in too long. We were back on the road at 9:30 am and excited to explore Colorado and enjoy the wonderful weather. we didn't see a "welcome to colorado" sign, so this will have to do. Southpark, CO. The tempera...
