School Christmas Programs...

Image
On Thursday, December 5th the boys had their school Christmas Programs. I love this kind of stuff, so I was pretty excited.   That morning, the boys awoke to the Elf on the Shelf leaving them seeds to grow Candy Canes.  Gus's program was in the morning so he wore his Christmas outfit to school. It was so adorable! That evening, it was Garrett's turn. The kids were all pretty excited because forecast called for cold/icey weather, so everyone was sure school would be cancelled the next day.   G and Mrs. Angela...  They did great. Garrett's class was very calm and well behaved. The other end was some wild-er children. He has a great class - Mrs. Angela runs a tight ship, but they are all good kids, too. How we kept Gus quiet.  When we came home, we saw that Bell Schnikel grew us candy canes!  The boys set their shoes out in hopes St. Nick would stop...

Christmas Tree Hunt

Our Christmas Tree Adventures 2013:   Our search for the best Christmas Tree farm continued this year. Not many places were doing cut- your-own-tree due to the drought recovery from a few years ago. We were on our way to Meridian to visit  Radde Tannenbaum Farm  like we did last year, however, we saw some signs in Burleson for a farm that is much closer. They had trees and a tractor ride, so that fulfilled all requirements. They would flock your tree for you with a large selection of colors. I love it - one of these days, we'll try it.  We had our traditional Italian dinner to carb-load for our week of decorating.  the single best thing about decorating is unwrapping each ornament and reminiscing about where it came from....we always buy them on our travels. We collected a few from our Disney Cruise, so the boys had a good time talking about it - even though it is really difficult to not want to play with the ornaments. ...
