Crackberry Addiction

Image
We have a little issue at our house. Garrett broke my blackberry, so I got a new one. I bought a green cover for it to hopefully protect it a litte better. Well, Garrett loves it. He looks for it, grabs it when he sees it, and won't give it back. Since I use it so much, it is always out and hard to hide from him.  I gave him the old one that he broke, but he threw it when he realized it didn't light up or vibrate. This face is hard to resist.... And the crazy part is that he holds it as if he know how to email. I heard about Leapfrog's "blackberry" so we loaded up and went to Target in search of it. We found it. It is for ages 3+, but anything is better than mine. He looked it over, and check it out. Notice how he is not yet convinced, and still clutching my phone in his right hand. He apparently didn't like it....out it goes. I guess that's a "no" See ya, blackberry for babies. You can't fool me. Now, back to texting.... 15 m...

Making cookies with Mom

Image
We made dinner and some cookies to take to our friend, Sarah, and her new bundle of joy, Thomas. Garrett wanted to help me....he can't wait until Baby Thomas is big enough to play with him. Grandma Housler's famous "no-bake" cookies... The best part...licking the spoon... He didn't understand licking the spoon...so he just used his hands.

He can create such a huge mess in a tiny amount of time. But he has fun doing it. There is something about paper products that he loves. Kleenex, toilet paper, napkins....he gets them everywhere. Whenever he finds a kleenox or paper towel, he puts it over this mouth and does a fake cough. I'm a bit perplexed by this, because Zane and I (think that we) don't cough that often, but someone is doing it frequently enough that he has caught on. Maybe it is us....maybe we cough more than we think:) Garrett was here...

Playin' @ the park

Mr. Sticky Fingers was trying to get to Gracie's treats. He finally just pulled her stroller closer to him so he could get into her snack holder. Thanks for sharing, Gracie. "C'mon, Gracie, just a few more" He is ready to run all over the place....I keep telling him it would be much easier to navigate the playground if he would WALK. No luck yet. He is obsessed with tunnels. Not sure what is the deal with the tongue, but he frequently has it hanging out of his mouth. He let a girl in a skirt out climb him. We are going to work on this.

Cowboy Sunday

Image
Every year in September, our church has a cowboy church sunday with a western christian band. This is totally different from our traditional service with organ music. Everyone wears boots and jeans, and we sing tons of old gospel songs with the band. Garrett loved the band. Last year he was just 3 weeks old for cowboy Sunday, so this year was very different. He clapped and danced, and didn't take his eyes off of the drums. The best tradition is that several of the guys from the church get up during the service and sing "Ghost Riders in the Sky". Zane took Garrett with him, and he liked being up front and looking around at the entire sancutary of people. My buckaroos before the service... He kind of looks like Woody from Toy Story... My sweet boy... Garrett & Madison sporting their western outfits... The band... All the guys singing "Ghost Riders in the Sky" Garrett & Zane A short video of the guys singing....
