Good to be home

We finally made it home from west Texas. It was a great week with family. The boys slept really well in their own beds. And a few of their new toys got to join them.

After a few days in Midland, we headed to the ranch for a quick visit with Julsey and Who Who. The boys opened some gifts....Thank you, Wiatreks!! Garrett and Zane were checking out the deer. G utilized the binoculars Santa left him. They love taking showers. Gus's 1st time to have pancakes. No complaints from my little eater. Garrett talking to cousin Hunter, thanking him for his Christmas presents. the boys holding hands as we head to Ft. Davis. Once again, on the way home from Ft. Davis, we had to stop to see the old truck that had fallen into the canyon. driving around the ranch. sitting big boy style... Zane trying to do some bow hunting, but he accused the boys and me of being too loud while we stayed in the truck. oops. Garrett enjoyed playing with some of the hunters' kids at deer camp. Garrett and Carly all the little hunters Fun Times!!

Airplanes, etc.

Mom, my sister and I don't really shop on Black Friday. We prefer to save our pennies for the day after Christmas bargains. It will be so fun to decorate for Christmas next year....the attic will be full of surprises. We met the guys for lunch at Michael's (a burger/bbq place in Midland), and it is full of airplane memorabilia, including big model planes. Gus was mesmerized with the planes, and kept looking up to see them. By the end of lunch, he started to sign "airplane" which looks similar to the sign for "i love you". all week we've asked him "where is the airplane?" and he looks up and does this: We did more shopping and the boys went home. Papa made a "dameroom" for Garrett in the garage, so he could play with all his new toys. mistle-toed

Merry CHRISTmas!

Everyone except Garrett was up bright and early (Gus was up at 3 am, 4 am, 5 am). We waited and waited, and finally we woke Garrett up. First things first...Checking to see if Santa ate the cookies... where do I begin? his 1st Christmas morning... sticking out his tongue... the rocketship with an elevator that he requested from 8 different Santas. testing out his "stooter" getting spoiled from the aunties up too early for Nana & Papa... Zane opening up his present from Garrett Nana trying on her ring (Dad had the prongs fixed on her engagement ring that she hasn't been able to wear in a long, long time). Zane is always saying "boom shakalaka". I'm not sure where it comes from or what it truly means, but I knew he had to have this shirt when I saw it. new Curious George books....always a hit. an octopus ornament to remember his visit to the Aquarium with Annette & Marcus M...
