Check one more off the list....
Besides the fair, visiting the Arboretum in the fall is our other favorite thing to do (I think our list of favorites gets longer every year). Annette took the day off of work, so we left Friday morning to pick her up, grab lunch stuff from Whole Foods, and head to the Arboretum. We were almost there when we got the "devastating" news about Big Tex. Then we get to the Arboretum to find the parking lots all full. We were directed about a mile away to park and shuttle on over. This was kind of a deal breaker for us because the thought of unloading/loading my stroller and children multiple times takes the fun out of things like this. Unloading and loading them once is enough. So we turned around, to do one more drive-by of the parking lots. Just as I was about to suggest ditching the Arboretum and going to the fair (again) to pay our respects to Big Tex, the parking guard OPENED the parking lots back up.
