Cookie Exchange & Christmas Party

Image
Morgan, Garrett & Samuel Brenden, Garrett & Morgan Garrett hung out with a few "buddies" this week out our playgroup Cookie Exchange and then at the Christmas Party. The top photo cracks me up because Morgan, Garrett and Samuel look to be having a little discussion.

I've been tagged!

Image
Kristi Hutton tagged me. Check out her blog @ www.huttonhouse.blogspot.com . Rules are ~ 1. Choose the 4th picture folder on your computer. 2. Choose the 4th picture. 3. Explain the picture. 4. Tag 4 more people to do the same. This was from my "2003" folder. Obviously it is Christmas morning, and we apparently have already opened our gifts. Mom & I are probably in the kitchen cooking everyone an elaborate breakfast...slaving over a hot stove (but more likely to be mixing mimosas). Annette and Mindy will probably be upset with me for posting this picture, but I couldn't resist because my favorite part is that the Christmas Story is playing on the tv. Every year we watch the 24-hour marathon that begins on Christmas Eve, and we watch it for about 19 of those 24 hours. What a difference 5 years makes. Back then it was just the 5 of us and Daisy. Now it is Mom, Dad, Daisy, Mindy, Jarrett, Annette, Marcus, Zane, me, Garrett, Sophie & Heidi. We grew from 5 peeps and a ...

Christmas Carols @ Church

Image
Tonight we went to the church for cookies & Christmas carols. We learned about the history of some of the more famous Christmas Carols. My favorite lesson was on "The 12 Days of Christmas". Each gift given has a biblical meaning: -The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus. -Two turtledoves were the Old and New Testaments . -Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love. -The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. -The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament. -The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation. -Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit-Prophesy, Serving, -Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy. -The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes. -Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit-Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, -Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control. -The ten lords a...

Baby it's cold outside...

Sophie stayed inside and out of the ice today. This was her permanent location. A few times I caught her inching closer to the fire and half-hanging off the pillow. This poor dog hates cold and wet weather. She gets that her Grandmother (my mom).

Hunter & Gage

Image
A few more pics of the latest arrival, courtesy of Erin. Gage got to see his baby brother this morning. His response when he saw him was "he's so beautiful". We think so, too!

Hunter is here!

Image
Hunter James Wiatrek arrived last night at 8:44 p.m. He was 6 lbs 13 oz. According to our "sources" his Mom and Dad are doing well. Gage stayed with Erin & Jason yesterday, and every 2 minutes asked "when can I see me mommy?". By the time she had Hunter, Gage was already sleeping. I wish we could be there when he sees Hunter for the first time - he's so excited to meet his little bro.
