Day with Ashlea

Image
It's that time of the year again! We couldn't wait to go to a Rangers game. My good friend, Ashlea, is moving away and wanted to attend an afternoon game before she left the area. It was the perfect spring-time day.  Zane has been swamped, so he obviously couldn't go to a day game, so I braved it alone. I was prepared to leave at anytime because I was expecting the worst. Whenever I do that, it seems they behave the best.I didn't have to fuss at them once. Surprisingly, they were both content to sit in the seats and watch the game. I brought our own snacks and drinks so I wouldn't have to get up to get them anything. Other than the cotton candy that Garrett weaseled out of me, I stayed on track with food (I even resisted a beer; to do that at a Ranger's game is just unAmerican!).   Garrett was all decked out in his Rangers gear that Annette & Marcus send him in the Junior Ranger Pack. He had fun pointing out the other "junior Wangers" ...

Walking

Gus turned 14 months old on Friday. I think it is safe to say he is walking. He has been taking 3-4 steps at a time up until this weekend. On Sunday (while scrambling to get Easter candy and/or eggs) he started to take 5-6-7 steps at a time. He's been unstoppable ever since. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSgwkhla23w

Easter 2012

My Easter began very early (in fact, I think I passed the Easter Bunny on my way out the door) so Zane got the boys dressed and ready for church all by himself. He did well! I was helping with the church breakfast so the boys joined us for breakfast before church, Annette & Gus Garrett wasn't interested in a photo with mom the best we could do after several attempts. Brunch! Gus squealed like Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 times during church and about 5 times at lunch. I think this is the last year that both kids will eat for free at Easter Brunch. So it looks like we'll be eating at home next year:) Gus's latest trick is showing his muscles while making a funny face. The boys with Annette and Marcus yet another scary bunny...Poor Gus shook every time he walked by our table. There was a surprise when we got home. We have been planning on getting the boys a 2-seater tractor since they both try to fit on the...

more Easter Fun

Our church (Shepherd of Life Lutheran) always has a morning Egg hunt, crafts and breakfast for the kids on the Saturday before Easter. Every year the crowd grows, which is exciting to see. Last year: Shepherd of Life Easter Festivities 2011 The boys had to decorate an egg crate to find the appropriate eggs, numbered 1-12. Gus loved the stickers. Garrett writing his name. He and I made a jelly bean necklace. Each color of jelly bean had a meaning. Green = grass God made, yellow = sun God made, pink = promise of tomorrow, purple = Jesus' suffering on the cross, etc. I asked him what black was and he said "for our sins". He was exactly right. I guess he learned it at school or BSF:) Time to hunt Garrett and his buddy, Madison. They are so funny together. This year was the first year he got the concept of matching the numbers. He did really well with it and found all 1-12 by himself. That evening we had dinner at Mimi & JJ...
