It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood....

Monday was an exciting day for us. It was moving day for the Percival's, and the girls got to spend the day with us. Garrett had been counting down since last Thursday. We had some "pwojects" (as G calls them) picked out from pinterest for our Monday Funday, First up was Rainbow Rice. Gus napped while we dyed plain, uncooked rice with vinegar and food coloring. Libby mashing the green rice to spread the color throughout the ziploc. Gracie did red, pink and purple. Garrett did blue and orange. We put it all into a big tray so it could air dry for a few hours. By the time it dried, our friends The Hutton's arrived to play. We made designs with glue and then covered it with the colored rice. Garrett just wanted to pile it up to make a volcano. It was windy, so the kids were occasionally hit with flying rice. Gus ate the food colored, vinegar-coated rice, despite my many attempts to stop it. Time for pizza! Alex & ...

We let the boys ride around in the front yard the other night, while Zane and I just enjoyed the evening. I had my camera with me and snapped some photos. I didn't even realize I had the above picture until I downloaded them. It was a funny surprise! She decided she didn't want a ride afterall! No worries ~ she landed on her feet.  Poor girl is spending the night at the vet's tonight (for an unrelated injury). She had a fatty tumor removed from her hiney. We get to pick her up tomorrow. Garrett has been very concerned about his pup.  Gus has the "oh no" hold perfected. He can hang on regardless of how poorly Garrett drives.  Now it's Gus's turn to drive. It's actually pretty cute to watch. Garrett controls the accelerator AND the steering wheel from the passenger side, just so Gus gets to drive. I'm not sure if he's being brotherly or a control-freak.

Fun with friends

Gus and I went to the grocery store after dropping off Garrett. He squealed with pure joy when he saw the cement truck. I put him down and he made a bee line for it. Our friend from church, Mason, spent the day with us on Wednesday since his nanny was sick. We had fun! Best part of the week was the Percivals closing on their house in OUR neighborhood. We really love our neighborhood and the good friends we've met here. We are sad to see the Dwinells go to Kansas City, but having the Percivals so close will be awesome.  David's first spin in his golfcart (that was acquired with the house!). Like good friends do, we are housing their golf cart for them while they have their garage floors epoxied. a toast to the new house! I'm beyond excited! someone likes to play on the cart. (Don't worry David, I've hidden the key). Gus is a running pro with his new running shoes (thanks, Nana!). On Friday, Garrett's best buddy from school came over t...
