The Big Dig

I guess Garrett's latest obsession with construction equipment is normal and age appropriate. We aren't sure if it began with the new house in our neighborhood being built, watching Bob the Builder, or that we are always in the car where we see so many backhos, bulldozers, excavators and loaders doing roadwork or building structures. Now that a certain 2-year old points each one out, there are a lot of them out there. He loves to see them in action, read about them, and watch Youtube videos about them. While we were in Midland, we got a chance to go out to where my Dad works, and he arranged for Garrett to ride in a backho. We waited in the car while my Dad did  "test drive" to be sure he knew how to operate it. They drove it around, moved the bucket, scraped some dirt, etc. Dad said Garrett was completely engrossed,  and he didn't talk or do much except take it all in. then we were off to check on some things.  checking out the pump house  Papa showing Garret...

Daddy & Kindermusik

I've been enjoying watching how much Garrett likes Kindermusik each week. He is learning all the songs (thanks to the CD we listen to over and over and over again) and he loves all the activities we do each week. He also seems to be quite fascinated with his teacher, Ms. Claudia. She is from Paraguay and has a great accent which seems to hold the kids' attention. He mimics her hand motions, her dances, etc. He is also very obedient when it comes to her instructions. Zane finally had to check it out for himself, so he arranged his schedule last week to come with us. There is always at least one Dad there, and Ms. Claudia said her afternoon classes are mostly Dads. Hopefully Zane can make it back again for another class since each week is different. Gus & Daddy Singing the "Itsy Bitsy Mousekins" song The motions to "Roll Over Rover" Isn't he a great Daddy :) Then Garrett, Gus and I went to Storytime Yoga. (Zane declined that invitation). Gus is very...

Not so little....

Gus is such a sweetie, and he literally looks more and more like Garrett each day. His hair is getting lighter, his eyes are getting bluer, and he is growing like crazy. He seems huskier than Garrett and is solid and thick in his chest and belly. He is sleeping 11 pm to 7 am, and eating every 2-1/2 hours (except from 11-7, thank goodness). He loves to lay on the floor and kick, and he loves his changing pad. We get the best smiles there. He knows when Garrett is by him and stops crying whenever he hears his brother's voice. And that hair.....well, it's crazy.
