Snow Day

Image
Friday morning we woke up to.....SNOW. It was more than we expected since south of the metroplex was suppose to get 3" max. The forecast said we might get a "dusting". We woke up to 3" and it snowed until noon, leaving us with 5". It was great, and it stuck around just long enough for us to play in it and enjoy it. I had 3 conference calls so Zane and Garrett made an awesome breakfast. Spanking Zane with the spatula.....we've been stuck in the house too long! Out our front door.... Garrett got the vacuum out again all by himself to do some cleaning. Then it was time to go outside to play... We don't have a sled so we came up with the closest thing to it.....the bottom of a dog crate. Zane giving it a try.... Snow Angels... G's attempt at a snow angel, but Sophie had to check on him. He wouldn't dare.....would he? Garrett defending his mama.... We opted for a laundry basket due to aerodynamics.... Playing catch with ...

Ice Day

Sleet started on Tuesday morning about 4 a.m. It didn't take long for a certain 2-year old to be at my bedside saying "Mom, what's zat noise". Then it was "I hear something. I hear a bob-chat" (every strange noise sounds like a "bob-chat" to him). It sleeted and snowed until noon or so, and that shut down the metroplex. Initially, we thought things would only be interrupted for a day or so. But we are now approaching day 4 of no school (which means no Mothers Day Out and no Stroller Strides), no deliveries, only occasional mail, and lots of icey roads. I was suppose to interview candidates on Tuesday, but DFW airport was shut down most of the day. My Wednesday was disrupted because my rep from Miami couldn't get here. So, we have been home. Working, nesting, baking, cleaning, packing for the hospital, organizing, playing outside, playing with legos, and forgetting to brush our teeth. It's been great! Garrett is super creative with his lego...
