Garrett & Atlee

Image
Erin, Jason & Atlee came to town this weekend. Erin had some photography appointments, and we had plans to go to the Texas State Fair. In between our activities, the boys had a great time playing together. They are 13 months apart, and I can just imagine what good buddies they will be someday. Ready for bed... Having some fun before bed. Story time before bed. Breakfast together... Off to the park... Zane & Garrett on the slide... Garrett's face was so funny, I had to zoom and crop... The park is so much more fun when you can walk... With his 2nd cousin, Matthew, having his first oreo...

Sushi

Image
Friday night we met up with Annette, Marcus, Mindy & Jarrett for dinner. Mindy & Jarrett were in town for the Race For a Cure. Zane, Garrett & I went to Richardson to meet them for sushi at Simons. This is Annette & Marcus' favorite place. They frequent it so much that they have their own chopsticks and get to order from the "secret" menu. Garrett with 2 of his favorite Aunts. His sushi bib was a gift from Aunt Nettie....I was 14 weeks pregnant at the time. Garrett's very first California Roll He loved them! Annette & Marcus' "special" chopsticks that Simon's give them. Garrett thought Simon was very interesting...

Dress Rehearsal

Image
We had a dress rehearsal today for Halloween....You can never be too prepared for the big day. Only 14 days to go! Garrett is going to be Davy Crocket. Sophie will be Davy's not-so-famous horse. While I'm still working on that costume, I did finish Garrett's costume last night. The hat is from Uncle Dick. He got it in Alaska. The mocassins are from a little leather store in Santa Fe. The owner gave them to Garrett. Now we just need to find a buckskin shirt for under his vest. Any ideas?

Momma's little helper

Image
Today Garrett helped with some cleaning and laundry. We folded clothes (rather I folded and Garrett unfolded), and then he "dusted" the ottoman with a clean pair of underwear. He's so helpful. Garrett "dusting" Taking his clothes to his room.... More dusting... Taking a tumble...

Paying the bill

Image
Garrett "signed" his name on the credit card machine at the grocery store. He took the stylus from Zane as Zane was about to sign it, and he knew exactly what to do with it. Every day he amazes us at the little things he notices and imitates.

Green Meadows Petting Farm

Image
We met up with our playgroup and visited a farm. It is located about 10 miutes from our house, and it is only open throughout October. After 12 days of rain and/or overcast weather, you can imagine how muddy it was. We were just happy to be outside. Blue, the Alpaca. I would love to have one of these guys as a pet. His coat was beautiful. They are low maintenance, disease-free, and only need to be sheared once a year. Better yet, their meat is not eaten, so I wouldn't have to worry about Zane butchering my pet:) He had one blue eye, hence his name "Blue". Then we went to visit the cows. Garrett was trying to grab its tail. Garrett took off  - he was determined to get into that pen. The Brahma... Turkeys... Garrett wasn't sure what to think about the turkeys. The sheep were Garrett's favorite. This little lamp kept nibbling on his finger. Garrett would let him nibble for a few seconds and then pull his finger away laughing hysterically. Zane...
