Trophy Time

Image
it was bitter sweet...G's last game of the season.  I love seeing how big those pants look on all the kids. Next season, they won't be that baggy. Warming up Games were excruciating for Gus. He's not the kind of kid to just sit and watch other kids play ball. He wanted to be part of the action. Garrett got 2 at-bats this game. There were a few games he only got 1 at-bat, so 2 hits was a nice way to end the season. they needed a catcher, so guess who gave up his 1st base position and volunteered? He is a fan of being the catcher so he can wear all that equipment. Gus sneaked in the dug out while the kids were on the field. It actually worked out as a great way to contain him.  Last time to hit. He missed it the first time, but he fell over from trying to hit it so hard. Gus running to tell the kids "good game" It was a hot day! Gus was a sweaty mess. the coach's impromptu trophy ceremony.....

Election Day 2012

Image
The outcome wasn't good, but we had a good time learning about voting, the presidency and taking some pictures. Here were the boys on election day.   True running mates We did early voting the Friday before the election.  I asked "Garrett, will Mitt Romney win?"  This was his response:  "or will Obama win"... his response:  I asked Gus "who will win?"  his response: Then he did this (and it looks like his prediction was right):  here's to 2016:  then they found a box to wrestle in and that consumed the afternoon! This was Garrett 4 year ago when the exit polls predicted Obama's victory:

Phillies End of Season Party

We hosted Garrett's t-ball team's end-of-season party a few weeks ago. It was the perfect fall day with cool temperatures, but plenty of sunshine. we met a lot of great families throughout the season, so it was nice to really get a chance to visit. We decided we should have done this much earlier in the season.  all the players and their siblings seemed to be entertained. Poor Gus as the youngest, but he worked so hard to keep up with the older kids.  Cru's mom brought a basbeall pinata which the kids loved.   one perk to being the youngest was he got to go first...  after dinner and the pinata we had smores. We are kind of sad to see the season end, but we hope we'll have some of the same teammates in the spring.
