1st Day of Preschool

Image
Tuesday was Garrett's 1st day at St. John's Lutheran Preschool. No questions, no hesitation, no doubt from him...he was ready. showing off his shirt... Outside St. John's Finding his cubbie He got right to playing, and he didn't want to stop for a picture with Mrs. Jennifer.  We picked him up that afternoon, and he was listening to a story. There are lots of boys in his class. She was quick to show me how he wrote his name. She was impressed that he worked so hard to write his name by copying his name tag:) it was quite good. He finally agreed to a picture. After-school treat! He said his favorite part of the day was playing in the "centers". I asked him which one and he said the "titchen". Maybe he'll be a chef? I also asked him if he got into any trouble. He said "I got into a teeny tiny bit of trouble." I tried to get more details, but he wouldn't elaborate. No note, so I guess that's ...

Garrett's 1st T-Ball Game

Image
Garrett had a great first game. 90% of the kids seemed to have a really fun time (there were tears from some kids and others were ready to just have snack time, but most were loving every minute of it). I was surprised how well the kids caught on to baseball and how eager they were to play, despite temps of 103. Annette, Mindy, and Jarrett were all on hand for G's 1st game! Zane was behind 1st base while Garrett was playing 1st base, so he caught some great footage. I think we have a first baseman on our hands? He got a hit!  he made it to first and then slide/tripped. we aren't sure which ...

Nana & Papa come to town

Image
It just so happened that Nana & Papa had a retirement seminar to attend the week following Garrett's birthday. They decided to take some vacation days and spend the whole week here. We were VERY GLAD to have them here. We kept them busy and exhausted. Sunday we went to a Rangers game because all Junior Rangers got to have a parade on the field. Papa & Annette watching for us Zane and Garrett on the jumbotron. Mindy, Jarrett and Marcus the best part of being on the field for Garrett was seeing all the new costco-sized boxes of candy, bubble gum and sunflower seeds in the dugout for the players. He really thought that was cool. Joe Nathan signing autographs....he's Annette's favorite;) Garrett HAD to wear his new baseball cleats. He wanted to wear them to church, but we compromised on that. He said they made him run faster in the dirt. Nana opted to stay home with Gus. She also cleaned my house, did laundry ...
