Trinity Rail Express

Image
Garrett and I needed something to do on Friday since I had been out of town for work most of the week. I think the only train in the metroplex that we have not yet ridden is the Trinity Rail Express which is the commuter train from Ft. Worth to Dallas. There are several stops in between the cities, so we hopped on in Grand Prairie and rode it to Ft. Worth. Zane picked us up in downtown Ft. Worth since we were going to do more furniture shopping. Starbucks/Chocolate Milk, check. Cookie, check. Just waiting for the train  And waiting.    One going to Dallas...  Ours finally came. Garrett was really interested in the "train stations". The stops in Hurst weren't very good examples of stations - they were just stops.  Finally in Ft. Worth we got to see some real "stations" with lots of people, buses, cabs, and buildings. He waved at all the people.  Here's our stop....  The Texas-Pacific Station in downtown Ft. Worth is pretty cool. It is a historic la...

Big Boy Bed

We've started our search for Garrett's big boy furniture. Currently he loves his crib and hasn't attempted to climb out of it, so he'll continue to sleep there until Baby #2 arrives. However, we hope to get his new room and the baby's room ready after Christmas, so we'll need to order furniture now. We like the idea of bunk beds as long as it has a full bed on the bottom for guests. Garrett LOVES that idea, but he claimed the top bunk (sorry Grandparents/Aunts/Uncles). Garrett got distracted during our search at Pottery Barn. With that adorable stroller, though, who wouldn't? Both guys pushing their strollers:) Testing more beds... We also got side tracked in the Clarkes Kids Shoe Store. I was looking at some boots for him and he was putting on girls boots. Nice. We also visited "The Dump" for kids furniture, but their selection was horrible. Garrett liked this horse head piece, but kept saying "horsey head. cut off". Kind of morbid. Mayb...

Tern-a-topia

Image
We've been reading a few books on Thanksgiving, and Garrett is quick to point out the cornucopia filled with fruit and pumpkins. So while we were at Hobby Lobby on Saturday we noticed that Thanksgiving stuff was 60% off, so we bought some stuff to make our own "tern-a-topia" (as Garrett calls it). I took off the tags and Garrett but them in the "horn". All was going well. We were talking about pilgrims and turkeys, proud of my "teaching" moment. I went to set the cornucopia on the fireplace, but I dropped it, and all our goodies spilled out. I said "oh no" and Garrett said "oh Sh*t, Mom". There went our special moment. Here is my little "angel" after we put everything back in the horn (and had a conversation about his language). Reading some Thanksgiving books with "baby bruder" and Daddy.

Choo Choo Party

We had a great time at Jake & Adrien's Birthday Party on Saturday. We were at Trinity Park in Ft. Worth, and everyone got to ride the Mini Train. The boys just wanted to play on the train tracks, though. It is so fun to watch all the boys that love trains play together. All the Daddies keeping tabs on the boys... Jake, the birthday boy... Waving at the train... Eating some "poptern" All Aboard! Stretching his legs during our stop on the train. He decided to visit with Claire... Lisa, Claire and Garrett (sweet baby Aubrey is there, too) Having a snack after the train ride... Garrett was eyeing the yummy cake Garrett & Trevor Garrett & Drake Our "Stand By Me" photo. These 4 walked up and down the track (under close supervision, of course:) Garrett and birthday boy, Adrien...   Looking for critters and animal tracks.... A big pie-der
