Fishing with the boys

Image
On Saturday, Garrett and Zane went to a Kids Fishing Day at the HEB in Burleson with Christophe and Adrien. Even though it was cold and they didn't catch any fish, it sounds like the 4 of them had a great time. Yes - they held hands on the way to Burleson:) The fishermen... When Zane and Garrett got home, Garrett told Zane "Dada, I yiked that blue water".

Our week

Image
Garrett was very proud of his policeman hat that he made at school. They were learning about community workers at school. Garrett's first photo. Maybe he'll take after his Tia Erin. Now he needs to learn Photoshop to brush up his momma. Dinner at The Keg on Tuesday night with Annette, Marcus and my Mom, who was in town for a work conference. Our picnic at the Kennedale park on Wednesday ~ they have an awesome park! Gus enjoying the sun during a diaper change. Garrett loved the trains at the park. Garrett cleaning up the yard. He decided to drive his tractor around and clean up everything scattered throughout the yard. He was pretty proud of himself. I was proud of him, too, since I hadn't had a chance to do that. Garrett before school on Thursday. He had to take something to school that represented his parents' occupations. For Zane's he took a ladder (aka yadder) and for mine he took a pair of Vise Grips.

Sesame Street Live

Image
We went to Nokia Theatre Thursday night to see Sesame Street Live: Elmo's Healthy Heroes. Garrett was really excited and had been asking since Wednesday "when we go see Elmo?". I told him we needed to eat before we could see Elmo, so while out in the concessions area, he grabbed the hot dog out of the bun and started chowing down on it. He wasn't going to waste anytime. The anticipation is too much! All of a sudden Bert shows up on stage. Garrett just starred at the stage partially mesmerized, partly scared, and somewhat excited. I don't think he even blinked. One by one, more characters showed up. Gus ate and slept, except for a few moments where his eyes were open. Zane trying to get Garrett's attention by eating all the "totton tandy", but even that didn't seem to phase him. Is that a smile?

Conference Party & Dance

Image
This year's All Cat Party had John Conlee as the entertainment. We love to go to each year's conference because all the activities are so family friendly. The dance they have each year is no exception. In fact, from my pictures, it looks as though it is only kids, but when the adults weren't dancing they were at the bar:) Zane, Garrett & John Conlee (he was such a nice guy!). Garrett looks like he's had a bit too much to drink, but I assure you it was only apple juice. (Thanks Shelby, for the pictures!). Garrett dancing to John Conlee...We were eating dinner when the band started playing. As soon as Garrett heard the music, he slipped out of his chair and ran towards the stage. He knew he was there to listen to music and had no interest in eating his BBQ dinner. How can we argue with that? Gus loved the music, too. Daddy & Gus dancing Gus' 1st concert Garrett didn't care to play with the kids his own age. He was more interested in the older boys an...
