We're back

I've been a bad blogger lately. Even my mom made a comment, so I knew I better get on the ball. Mindy's wedding is over, so now we are back to Mansfield, Stroller Strides, Weight Watchers and work. Garrett took his first 2 steps tonight! He's been trying all week, and today at Babies R Us I noticed he was really doing well as I walked with him. Then tonight he took 2 steps from Zane to me. I will have the camera in his face all weekend in hopes of catching it again on the record. Here's what we've been doing... Garrett thinks he can feed himself with a spoon. Earlier this week he tried to put his food on the spoon and then put the spoon in his mouth. He gets the idea. He loves to bite down on the spoon as I'm trying to feed him and not let go. At Toys-R-Us with Kay ~ we helped her register for her little one set to arrive in December. Garrett was good the entire 3 hours we were there....until the last 5 minutes. Everyone says he never cries, but this is proof h...

Meet the Teacher

Image
Last night was Garrett's 1st Meet the Teacher night for Mother's Day Out that begins next week. He will go Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday to a church in Arlington from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. I'm not thrilled with the idea of him leaving the house...I think he is still too young. However, we will give it a try. He certainly seemed to enjoy himself, and we know 2 of the other kids that are in his class. We love Erik & Morgan, and I think Garrett & I are both thankful we can all share this experience together. Garrett's teachers...

A few random photos from our long weekend in Midland for the wedding... Snuggling with Grandma... He loves my Grandma's cane. He played with it every chance he got... Being cheesy.... Whenever he sees my Dad, he puts his finger out because he wants to touch his mustache. If it were up to Garrett, they would play that game forever. We tried to get Garrett to say "Papa" and he came close with "baba". For now, my Dad is "baba".

Happy Birthday, Zane

We hope you have a great day...Garrett & I love you very much! Garrett got his Daddy an Antelope hunt in Wyoming for his birthday. Looks like it will just be Garrett & me September 17-21 while Zane heads to Wyoming with his good friend, Morgan.

They are married!!

Mindy & Jarrett are now 'The Hoppers' and enjoying sunny, beachy Mexico. The wedding was beautiful. Pre -wedding festivities like the bridal luncheon and rehearsal dinner went well and were lots of fun. On the actual wedding day, there was very little mishaps, aside from the cake, which had a leaning problem (many guests thought it was a tribute to an Italian honeymoon to Pisa....that was NOT the case). The bride and groom were both stunning. The wedding ceremony was beautiful, with a great sermon from Father Tom. The flower girl did well, and the ring bearers did, too. At the last minute, we decided to have Garrett crawl down the aisle, rather than have Zane hold him and walk to their seats. Garrett did great and zipped about half way down the aisle until his pants got caught on his leg. At that point, Garrett stopped, sat up, looked around and said "huh". Everyone laughed. The reception was held at the Commemorative Air Force Museum in Midland, and it w...
