Mainstay Farm

Image
We spent quite a while at the Mainstay Farm today in search our a Christmas tree. The highs were only in the low 40s so we bundled up and headed to Burleson. We had a great time. You can buy trees they have pre-cut or you can take a tractor-pulled wagon ride up the hill to cut your own. We wondered around for about 45 minutes until we found the perfect tree. Zane sawed it down, and the workers  took it from there and had it ready for us at the bottom of the hill. Poor Garrett was so bundled that he had trouble walking. I thought he might get too warm, but he actually was dressed perfectly. (Note to Huttons: the Fleece Overalls have been so useful!). My boys... Waiting for the tractor to give us a lift... On the wagon ride... Looking for our tree... A Garrett-sized tree. He kept going to trees about that size and touching them. Zane with a baby and a saw. Looking for the perfect tree... Garrett took a tumble and couldn't get back up...so he laid there and smiled....

Breakfast with Santa

This morning we had Breakfast with Santa. It is put on by the Kiwanis Club each year, and Zane's barber gave us free tickets. They had a pancake/sausage breakfast, then a photo session with Santa. Garrett now gets excited when you mention Santa Claus and knows that Santa says "ho ho ho", so I thought he might react differently when he saw him. Surprisingly enough, he acted totally shy when it was our turn to see Santa. Garrett wouldn't make eye contact with him. He kept his head down and occassionally looked at the Christmas tree and say "tree?" Looking at all the pretty Christmas trees... Santa Claus & Garrett....

Jackson Truitt Kimbrough

Our very, very good friends, Kay & TJ welcomed baby Jackson on Wednesday. We are so glad he is finally here. He weight 7 lbs 12 oz and was 20.5 inches long. Everyone seems to be doing very well, and Kay & TJ are handling parenthood beautifully.  I'm looking forward to spending some time with them next week when they get a bit more settled at home. We went to visit them last night at the hospital, and Garrett (once he finally figured out what was underneath the swaddled blanket) would point to Jackson and say "bay-bee". When we took the photo of the 4 of us, Garrett just leaned over and kissed him on the head. Jackson Truitt Kimbrough He is simply perfect, and a combination of both Kay & TJ. However, I think he favors his Daddy a little more. Kay & me with our little guys...It's a good thing we are such girly mamas because these little guys are all boy! Buddies Forever.... I giggle just thinking the fun these 2 are going to have ov...
