Grand Prairie Police Department Tour

Image
We went to tour the fancy new Grand Prairie police department with our other playgroup. On the way there we saw this excavator trying to pick up a huge peice of concrete. So we were side-tracked and pulled over to watch. The officer was so nice. HE told GArrett to sit in the driver's seat and push a button. He didn't know it was for their siren/horn. He thought he did something wrong:) It was cute. Then it was Gus's turn. All day long he said "leese loud" (aka Police loud) Just to demosntrate how "loud" the police car reall was.. We had a blast. so glad the boys get to know policeman and understand they are there to help them (since they just know them for giving me speeding tickets!) :)

Klyde Warren Park

Our playgroup met up at the new park in Dallas called Klyde Warren Park. It's part of the park they built over Woodall Rogers freeway....it's super cool. It wasn't too crowded, the weather was beautiful and the kids had a blast. They had food trucks, too, but we packed a lunch. The splash pad area was (obviously) the main attraction for this crew. This was Gus's favorite part. There was a reporter there from the DMN who got Gus's info. however, he ended up using another girls photo. We saw it in there the next day. boo! In fact, it was the girl in the red/pnk suit behind him. This was Garrett's favorite part... Garrett with his good buddy, Liam. They look like they should be brothers.  They were making "strong" faces. We can't wait to go back. We hope to do it before school is out so we can enjoy it while other kids are still in school:)

May 2013

May is here, and we can't believe it. Where did the year go? We are looking forward to summer, but braced for a busy month. We are also ready for warmer weather.  Garrett came into my bathroom one morning while I was getting ready and said "hey mom. Look. I'm a stooba diver".  Garrett's school program was on Thursday, May 2nd. You would have though it was the Christmas program because we were dressed in winter clothes. Trying to keep these 2 still is almost impossible.  He was excited about his program. A few weeks ago he was concerned that he didn't know all the words to the songs. There was one particular song that he had been singing for a few weeks. It was called "Great Big God" but Garrett says it "Dreat, Big Dod".    His class before the program.   Mindy and Stella were there to watch him.  We are getting used to having Nana here for all the fun stuff.   Gus loved watchin...
