Mean Easter Bunny

Image
We were looking at the Hutton's blog, and saw they took the girls to see the Easter Bunny. Garrett saw the photo, pointed, and got really excited about the Easter bunny. So Zane & I took him to the mall on Thursday night. He liked looking at him, but as soon as the Easter Bunny approached us, I could feel Garrett's grip on my shoulder tighten, and then he started to make a half-laugh, half-cry sound (the same sound he makes when the real Chuck E. Cheese gets too close). And in Garrett's defense, this Easter Bunny and the rat from Chuck E. Cheese have an odd similarity. So who can blame him for being upset.

But-Ball

Image
Garrett is really into 'But-Ball' lately (that's his version of basketballP. Two weekends ago, Zane's Aunt Marilyn invited us over to dinner for my birthday. Her grandson were there (ages 10 & 13), along with their Dad and Aunt, etc. Garrett really likes playing with the boys because they are really great with him. Well they stopped playing with Garrett to go outback and play basketball. Garrett was upset and started crying, so Zane took him outside to watch the boys play basketball. This was Garrett's introduction to firsthand basketball, and it stuck. tHe really enjoyed watching them play basketball. So this past weekend, he kept talking about 'but-ball' but we thought he was saying 'football' until he saw a basketball hoop, and called that too a 'but-ball'. Then we realized that he was specifically referring to basketballs. Our trip to Chuck E. Cheese confirmed our thoughts when all he wanted to do was play the games with basketballs....

Trip to Midland

Image
We made a trip to Midland last weekend. Garrett was on Spring Break from Mother's Day Out so we couldn't stay in town all week, right? That would be crazy. Zane planned on making a trip to the deer lease so we flew to Midland and he picked us up half way on Sunday in Abilene. The flight to Midland. Garrett's shirt said: "I'm going to my happy place: Grandma's". He wore it with pride. I'll give you 2 guesses who bought that for him:) When we arrived in Midland, Nana and Papa had the train set up for him, along with Easter surprises. Then we went to the park and took a ride in the wagon. I had work to do on Friday, so Garrett and Mom got to spend the day together. They had breakfast on the patio. Garrett found Papa's hat in the house, put it on, and went out back. I thought it was funny that he kept it on for so long. He was "cleaning" out the pond (which was empty) with a broom and threw several rocks in it (sorry, Dad!). Then M...
