Zoo Fun

Image
A combination of a gorgeous Friday, a productive morning of work for me, and a slow work day for Zane led us to the zoo on Friday. Zane packed us a lunch (he's the best), and off we went to enjoy the day. We hadn't been in a few months, so it was nice to see that the zoo is adding a dinosaur exhibit in April. Ready for our picnic All the animals were out to enjoy the sunshine. This huge croc wouldn't budge. Garrett imitating the flamingos. We visited the Texas weather exhibit, and it ended up being one of our favorites. We usually don't go into that particular exhibit. Garrett kept telling us "i be wight back" and then he'd run ahead of us. He walked with us most of the time and we visited every single part of the zoo. The bobcast was his very favorite animal of all today. He kept saying "I yove the bob-chat". Belly Shot...

Getting so big

Garrett is getting so big and is such a copy cat. He also has been pretending a lot, and his imagination runs wild. His teacher commented this week how he can see something and pretend it is something else. She also said he has the most vivid imagination in his class. He will point to clouds and say "yook. it's a yion" (look, that's a lion) and the cloud really will resemble a lion. Another day he saw a branch off of a tree and told me it was a hand (and it really did look like a hand). He will take a bite of his cheese stick (we both love to eat cheddar cheese sticks and crackers as a snack) and says it looks like something (yesterday it was a chair, and yes, it looked like a chair). And of course everything is a gun. everything. Zane will play the guitar, and Garrett likes to use the guitar stand as a microphone. He has picked up on some good songs. He will sing Johnny Cash or Turnpike Troubadours. He is also obsessed with all things cowboy these days. It may be du...

Western Day at Tate Tots

Image
My buckaroo was SO excited about Western Day at Mother's Day Out on Thursday. He was so excited to get to school. All the kids really looked cute. The best part is that he brought home all sorts of cute projects they had been working on, and it all had a western theme. They are proudly hanging in his room. Running into class. He finally stopped for me so i could get one more picture... Garrett with Maddox

All Saints Tour

Image
We took a hospital tour on Wednesday evening. All Saints Baylor in downtown Ft. Worth is really nice and very modern. I think Garrett thought we were going to pick up a baby.....if only it were that easy. Starbucks is just one of the amenities that they have... Garrett showing off baby brother's new complimentary shirt. Then we had dinner at Gloria's. Zane insisted on wearing his "Man Behind the Belly" Shirt. Nice.

Getting ready for baby

We spent last Saturday at Buy Buy Baby....stocking up on all those little things that we'll need. We met up with the McKie's for lunch so they joined us for some shopping, too. Zane gave Justin some pointers on gliders. Ashley kept tabs on G while I tried to stay focused in this store. It really was overwhelming with all the ridiculous stuff they carried (hardly necessities). Luckily I got out of there with the necessities, and only a few gimmicky items.
