Aunt Mimi aka Hurricane Evacuee

Image
With Hurricane Ike heading to southeast Texas, Mindy has once again been evacuated from Beaumont. We are so happy for her to come and stay with us, we just wish it was under different circumstances. While here, she made the best of her time. In between breaks from The Weather Channel, she read Garrett a few books and practiced sign language with him.

Garrett's 1st Night Out

Image
It rained most of the day on Tuesday, so we were ready to get out of the house. We decided to try a restaurant. Here we are at Garrett's 1st Hibachi experience.

Sophie's new blanket

Image
The night Garrett was born, we sent this blanket home for Sophie to sleep with so she could get acquainted with his scent. So far, she has done amazingly well with him. She still cuddles up on this blanket every chance she gets. She is always checking out his swing, basket, or cradle just to see if he is in it. This week, she has started to run to me whenever I'm out of the room when he starts crying. She is a good big sister.

2 weeks old

Image
It is hard to believe Garrett is already 2 weeks old. Here is is enjoying tummy time. He tries to move his legs whenever he is on his belly, like he is trying to crawl away.

1st "Real" Bath

Image
Now that his umbilical cord fell off, Garrett was able to enjoy his bather. So far, he seems to really enjoy bath time.

Guns & Ammo

Image
Who needs Dr. Suess when you have Guns & Ammo? Garrett seemed to enjoy it, though.

Garrett's 1st Sunday @ Shepherd of Life

Image
Our little Lutheran made his debut at church today. He did great. He started to fuss at one point, but stopped as soon as the chior started to sing. Then Aunt Nettie decided that he needed to come sit with her (we usually sit together, but we were running a bit late, so we had to sit a few pews in front of them).

Name Tags

Image
This as the first Sunday for our church to have name tags for its members, and they even had one for Garrett. He wore it with pride.

The William's

Image
After the hunt, Brad, Tracy & Cy came to visit us. Cy kept us in stitches ~ he is too funny. Can't wait to hang out with them again!

Garrett's 1st Dove Hunt

Image
This year, Zane's buddies came to Mansfield to dove hunt instead of the traditional San Angelo get-together they do each year on the opening weekend of dove season. Lucky for him, Garrett has a few Real Tree outfits to get him through his first dove hunt.
