Boerne

Image
We went to Boerne for Zane's annual company conference. That means an annual shopping trip for me. We had a great time until Garrett sabotaged my shopping....I think his Dad put him up to it. ***note: that isn't mud on the carpeting of my car.

Garrett's 1st Dance

Image
As part of Zane's conference, they have a dance each year at the Leon Springs Dancehall. This year The Big Outfit opened for Moe Bandy. Zane played with the Big Outfit. They sounded great. Garrett wasn't quite sure what to think about all that noise, but he soon found his entertainment. Thank you, Hudson, for sharing your exersaucer. Garrett had a front row seat to the bands... All the kids running around the dance... Tio Jason & Garrett... More playing in the exersaucer... Morgan is such a bad influence. Poor Garrett is getting another tooth and loved putting the cold can to his gums. Don't worry - he didn't consume any beer. Morgan, Atlee, Zane & Garrett... Zane playing the mandolin... The Big Outfit opening for Moe Bandy... Tia Erin, Garrett & Atlee... The best part of the conference is that we get to see all of our "adjusting" friends. Plus we have so many family and friends in the San Antonio area, we always invite them to...

Little Buckaroo

Image
Tonight Garrett attended his first roping. We went to the annual team roping tournament that Zane's company puts on during their yearly conference. Last year Zane won the roping, so we were hoping for a repeat performance. Unfortunately, he didn't win it, but he still did well. The highlight was that Garrett got to sit on a horse for the first time. He looked very authentic with his hat. Zane was proud because Garrett immediately grabbed the reins like he knew what he was doing. My buckaroos... He was so tired he fell asleep while our friend, Brad, was holding him. It is exhausting being a cowboy.

Swingin'

Image
Now that he is such a big boy at 6 months old, we gave the swings a try at the park this afternoon. He really liked it. As I pushed him away from me, he got a confused look on his face, but as he swung forward to me he would smile. Sweet Morgan is a pro on the swings, so Garrett took pointers from her.

His 1st Ash Wednesday

Image
Lent begins today, as does a Target-free life for me for the next 43 days. So no more shopping at Target until Easter Sunday, and I assume they aren't open on Easter. I'll be beating down the door on the Monday following Easter. We can do it - I just hope Garrett doesn't try to persuade me to go to Super Target. In church tonight, he made quite a scene. Annette was holding him and he tooted 3 times - they were very loud. Pews all around us heard him, looked over at us, and started laughing. Certainly, they didn't think it was Annette. Maybe it was.

6 months old

Image
Where has the time gone? Hard to believe little man is 1/2 a year old. He loves his Sophie... And Sophie loves his toys, his play mats, etc. Garrett's quirks at 6 months: He smiles all the time. He still sleeps all night long - from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. He babbles as he is about to go to sleep. He loves white paper (church bulletins, especially). He loves, loves, loves carrots . He spends about an hour a day in his jumper. He starts giggling when you tickle his feet. He giggles at Sophie anytime she licks him. He is fascinated with the Roomba - he watches it closely. He loves anything shiny and immediately reaches for it. This includes: jewelry, my backberry , my camera, Coors Light cans, tin foil and metal spoons. Each night in the tub, I let him play on his belly. Nearly every night, he put his face in the water, inhales water, let's out this hysterical screach like a little banshee for about 5 seconds, and then sneezes. He is quite the character and keeps us entertained.

Another bike ride.

It was so nice this evening that we opted for another bike ride. Garrett squealed when I put him in the trailer. I guess he was excited. Enough pictures, Mom. Just drive....

Baby Version of Bourbon Street

Happy Fat Tuesday. Garrett enjoyed his first Mardi Gras experience. Like many Mardi Gras attendees, he passed out before the party was over. He loved this ball....and those beads. We "feasted" on shopping at Target, which I am giving up for Lent. Should be interesting:)

Garrett's 1st Bike Ride

Image
Today was so nice that we decided to take Garrett for his first spin on the bike. I guess he liked it....he just looked around at the scenery and then went to sleep. Before the big ride... Getting ready to leave the house....the anticipation is just too much for him. What's the big deal, Mom? My biker gang... Takin' a test drive... After an hour-long ride....he fell asleep and woke up as were stopping. He was clearly confused as to where he was and what was going on....

Garrett's Weekend with Grandma

Image
While Zane and I were away this weekend, my Mom watched Garrett. She flew up from Midland on Thursday night and went back home Sunday afternoon. We were sad to see her go. Garrett must have had quite a time because he hasn't stopped smiling, and he seems like he has grown since Friday. Thank you so much, Mom!! Mom went to our Stroller Strides class with us on Friday... Mom brought this hat back from Honduras for Garrett. It fits him perfectly. She also got him some musical instruments so he can play something when Zane plays his guitar. So far, the tamporine is his favorite, but he also likes the maracas.... Giving both babies equal time.... Thanks again, Mom. Love ya!
