Ready for church Gus having dinner with his buddy, Brady. Brady Garrett, Jake & Adrien Garrett had a playdate on Monday. Brenden came over while his mom was recovering from surgery. They played really well together and kept each other very busy. They both fell asleep while watching Frosty the Snowman. Gus is obsessed with the tree...pulling on the lights and chewing on the ornaments. He conquered the babygate. Loving my little tree...

it's beginning to look a lot like....

CHRISTMAS!  One of my very favorite things to do is pick out a tree. I'm happy to see that I am pretty sure it is Garrett's, too, and will soon be Gus's. We went back to Mainstay Farm in Cleburne. It's only about 20 minutes from our house. Normally, we cut down our own tree, but due to last summer's drought, Mainstay lost over 2000 trees. So we had to choose a {pricey} tree from North Carolina. I got to look at this toothy smile most of the day. Garrett enjoyed some hot chocolate on the hayride. Go Karts! If Zane or Garrett were behind me doing something interesting, Gus would strain his neck to look behind me....he is so afraid he'll miss something:) Garrett found doggie gear in the boxes of Christmas stuff, so the dogs had to dress up. Heidi got to come in for a quick pic... Gus's 1st gnoochi As requested, spaghetti and gnoochi for dinner before decorating the tree Garrett was helping to be sure the tree was level. Garrett wanted to...

Look who's back...

Our Elf on the Shelf returned this year. He appeared on Saturday morning. He had been playing with some of Garrett's trains. Garrett was a bit startled at first. And he wasn't happy that the Elf was on his train. He left his book for the boys to read. Gus really liked it. On Day 2, this is where Belle Schnikel was found. And this is what I found later on Day 2. "Someone" wrote on the bathroom wall. Garrett told me Belle Schnikel did it. Because Garrett is all about "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" and identifies his behavior this way, Belle Schnikel will be leaving this for tomorrow morning:
