Game Ball!

Image
T-ball is in full swing. We had a random make up game on a Tuesday night a few weeks ago. Gus and I strolled on over to the concession stand to get my volunteer badge. On our way back to the field, he was quite entertained with his shadow and, what appeared to be, big boots. It was cute!  Garrett made 2 great plays. One playing pitcher and throwing to 1st base and then as first baseman, catching the ball. He had great hits, too. We had to swing for a few moments...  Garrett was awarded the team's game ball!  He got to lead the team chant... It was a great night. Gus was really sweet to Garrett and very interested in the game ball! Way to go, Garrett.

Fall in Midland

Image
The boys spent a few days in Midland at Camp Nana Papa. Saying they had a blast was an understatement. After 3 days, Garrett called and said "Mom, can we stay for 1 more week. There is just too much for us to do here to leave tomorrow". We compromised on 3 more days.....

Main Stay Farm Fun

Image
Each year, Main Stay Farm (about 15 minutes from us) opens up their farm on October 1st to home-schoolers and playgroups. Of course, we skipped school and went. To not have to fight the crowds that go to this place on the weekends is such a treat! Plus we get 1st dibs on their awesome pumpkin selection. We had a great day, and I'm glad to played hookie from school. We'll probably do it next year, too, even though G will be in Kinder.  We got to hang with our fun neighors!  using stems as their phones. they are crazy!  This chalkboard car is always a hit with the kids.  Garrett had no interest in riding the zipline (Little Cub) like Gus did. He wanted to get on these trikes.  He could have done this all day, but there was a line of kids waiting...  At first Gus wanted to drive, so Garrett was trying to push him. Then they switched spots and it worked much better. It was pretty cute to watch:)  ...

Henrietta Apple Orchard....

Thankfully our summer was nice enough that the apple orchard in North Ft. Worth was open this year. It's nothing like the kinds in other parts of the country, but it is good enough for us! Some playgroup friends joined us.  looking for grasshoppers to feed to the chickens... failed attempts...  first up was learning about cotton, apples and honey...  I tried to get a picture of Gus. He would just lean over and put his hand on Garrett's leg, all while he was listening to the lady talk. It was sweet:)   Then we were off to explore...  Finding the perfect apple on the perfect tree...  Leah (G's friend from bible study) and the gang...  We learned how they wash their apples...  The apples were yummy!! They were fuji apples.  Stella loved them, too.  As we were in the little shop buying baked goods, honey, and jam, someone in ...
