"We dot duyt"

Image
Since the weather was nice today, Zane took Garrett to get sand for his sandbox. Holy smokes, was he excited.  They got the sand from a rock yard, so a tractor dump it into the bed of the truck. Garrett thought that was pretty cool. As soon as they got home, he came running in the house yelling "Mom....we dot duyt," They unloaded it (Garrett insisted on helping). I think he shoveled just as much out of the sandbox as he did in the sandbox. When it was full of sand, he came running inside again to tell me "We done". I came outside to see it, and I asked him if I should bring him a tractor. He said yes and turned around running to the sandbox. After a few steps he stopped, turned around, put both hands up in the air and said "No........TWO tractors". Then off he went. If anyone wants to come play in the sand, give us a call!

More Christmas Fun...

Annette & Marcus were nice enough to give my new wafflemaker a try.....Gingerbread Waffles were excellent. After Christmas Clearance Sale shopping, Mom and I got busy putting together a room for the baby. She made curtains and will make pillows when she comes up next weekend. Garrett thought he might be able to help Nana.   My Aunt Debi came over to help. and to chat. Meanwhile, the guys were outside building Garrett a sandbox Garrett "tried" to help them, too. After wards, Karsyn dressed us all up in hats.... The final project for the day: Get the Keg for the kegerator! Tuesday was dedicated to moving furniture around so that Garrett's room and the baby's room are next to each other and they can share and the jack-n-jill bathroom....I'm so thankful for all the help we had. There is no way Zane and I could have moved 3 rooms by ourselves. (I'm pretty worthless these days when it comes to picking up heavy stuff). Garrett found time for Elmo in the...

Our only family picture ~ after church on Sunday. Mindy & Jarrett decked out in new running gear... Sunday night we left Garrett at home with a sitter and went out to dinner at The Melting Pot. We had 4 courses: 3 kinds of cheese and bread/veggies for appetizer, then salads, then a variety of meat, chicken, shrimp and ravioli with batters/dipping sauces for the entree, and then 3 kinds of chocolates with fruit, cakes, etc. for dessert. It was delicious, and we all had a great time "cooking" our food. We had a blast. It was good that Garrett wasn't there because hot broth/oil and sharp skewers don't mix well with a toddler, but we managed to talk about him and like him ALL NIGHT LONG:) Annette and Mom checking out the broth for the main course.

Christmas 2010

In case you didn't hear, Santa was running behind this year. It was our understanding that bad weather and all the kids in Africa were to blame for Santa's tardiness. He arrived at our house around 11 a.m. on Christmas Day (approximately the time my parents, sisters, Marcus and bro-in-law arrived at our house). We got up on Christmas Day and opened gifts from each other and from family. Garret was anxious to get started.... His first gift was from Daddy.... His very own work gloves, just like Dad's! Helping Mom... A new guitar.... More presents for Mom.... Zane's cups that said "Beer Stolen From Zane's Kegerator". Yes...I bought him a kegerator. Not sure what I was thinking except I can't wait to drink lots of cold, fizzy, alcohol-rich beer. I think he had a tear in his eye... Daddy and Garrett did good....not 1, not 2, but 3 gifts for me from Tiffany's.....these two know how to spoil a girl. Zane loved his gift from his parents! Garrett love...
