Pumpkin Day

Image
For the first time, we were able to participate in the annual Pumpkin Day that the boys' school conducts each year. Younger siblings that don't attend aren't allowed to come (because it is an extra day of school), so we didn't do it last year since Gus wasn't enrolled. This year was a blast since they both go to go. Both Zane and i had to be there because each child needs a parent. We got a glimpse of what the boys' day entails and the activities they get to do (and there were lots of non-typical activities, too). Zane and I took turns being with Garrett and Gus.  Garrett was a little bummed that his buddy, Walker, wasn't there. Little did he know that Walker arrived late and was sitting next to him. He just hadn't noticed him yet.    He had a huge smile once he saw Walker was there.   This is part of their "Strech-n-Grow class they do.   Storytime and craft  Walker & Garrett  ~Buds~  Then they go...

Hall Johnson Farm

We made our traditional post-church run to Hall Johnson Farm last Sunday. We got some fried chicken and met the Bittings & Andersons.  Gus was ALL about the tractors.  So glad that Madison and her parents were able to join us before the weather blew in....  Annette and Bit Bit joined us, too!  the boys were in rare!! form.  Garrett decided he wanted to photo bomb them.   Corn maze was fun, and as always, a bit more challenging then we believed it would be.  The boys wanted to take our picture. This is the most unflattering picture ever, but there is a funny story behind. it. Garrett was taking our picture and Gus gets next to Garrett and was trying to make us laugh, much like Zane does to the boys while I am trying to take their picture. We were cracking up.   Luckily, I was holding my big camera so I caught a few shots of Gus trying to get us to laugh....

All things BOO!

We are in Fall/Halloween mode. Boys are constantly making something with pumpkins, decorations are out all through out the house, school is sending home Pumpkin Day activities, Halloween parties are on the calendar, costumes are being put together. Of course we had to do some shopping for material to make Halloween shirts!  We did Stella's initiation in the costume section at walmart. she did okay.   Then lost it.   Gus was scaring ME by playing baseball in my empty dining room.  Garrett is intrigued/mystified by the Headless Horseman story ever since last year when we read about him at the Arboretum. I found this Disney version. He watched it and was still pretty scared. I know this because at 5 pm he was too scared to go get ready for t-ball practice.  Once again, Gus scared ME by putting these peices of copper tubing in his ears and pretend he was an elephant (those were his tusks).   Random bike riding with our ne...
