Stroller Strides Treat~or~Treat

Image
Today I took a vacation day from work so Garrett and I could enjoy the day. We are also heading to San Antonio for a weekend with the family, so we had lots to do to get ready to leave. Last year's SS trick or treat: http://donahofamily.blogspot.com/2009/10/freaky-friday.html Last year's Campo Verde Lunch: http://donahofamily.blogspot.com/2009/10/moms-behaving-badly.html Garrett opted for the Alligator costume. That was a good choice considering the weather was nice and cool. Joanne made the cutest treats ~ "hands" filled with popcorn and candy. Garrett was most interested in the spider ring that was on one of the fingers. Lots of mamas working out today with their little goblins.  Adrien (firefighter), Jake (lion), and my Gator.  Let the madness begin...  Iz, the gnome.  Each stroller had a treat, so we stopped by each one.  Drake (Buzz Lightyear) and The Gator.  Garrett with Mia, the bear and Heston, the pirate. Playing on the playground  ...

Which one...

Taking the cookies we made to Mothers Day Out... In his classroom with Ms. Alison. He's been talking about "pumpkin pie" and this is what he is referring to ~ putting playdough in little pie tins. Pumpkin Pie... Tonight we had a dress rehearsal for Halloween. He has 2 costumes. Should he be an Alligator? Or a spidery monster? Trying to feel for Baby Brother...

"Pie-der" pumpkin

It is time to carve some of these pumpkins that we've accumulated over the last 4 weeks.Garrett was really excited, even though I'm pretty sure he didn't know what we were going to do. He was kind of shocked as Zane cut into the pumpkin. Everyone uses a powertool to do this, right? Garrett got to pull off the top. He used the spoon to get 1 scoop out... He didn't like the goo. This is his "you want me to put my hand where?" face. This was me covering his hands with pumpkin goo. He did not like it. Zane fulfilled Garrett's request for a "pie-der". I'm glad his patience and artistic abilities offset my lack of. "Dood job, Daddy"

One more pumpkin patch

Only a few days left to visit Pumpkin Patches, so we are taking advantage of it. Garrett loves them (and so do I). I think we are quickly converting Zane in to a Pumpkin Patch Lover, too. DFW has lots of great places to go. This was a the Hall Johnson Pumpkin Patch in Grapevine. It was only a few minutes from church, so we stopped by after church on Sunday. Annette and Marcus joined us, and we had a little picnic before venturing into the Corn Maze. A house made of hay. Tractors! More Tractors... That we me trying to make my best tractor sound as I pushed him... And more tractors... Garrett told Zane to "move". I guess he wanted to drive the tractor by "imself" as he says. They offer complimentary wagon use so G hopped in one... Annette and Marcus in front of the corn maze... We let G lead the way. He had pretty good instincts, but he led us to a few deadends. He was more interested in finding corn cobs that the actual maze. We were in the maze quite a while,...
