Welcoming 2013

Our 2013 didn't start out too well. We had fun plans to spend New Year's Eve with the Kimbrough's and go to a party at a ranch right down the street;) Zane had been feeling funny all day, but he thought it was heart burn. We made it to Glen Rose, and Zane started to feel worse and worse. By 8 p.m. we knew he had the stomach bug that we suspected Gus had a few days earlier (except Gus's "bug" only lasted 3 hours...strange!).  Garrett and I went ahead and went to the party with Kay and TJ. Gus stayed with the Kimbrough's sitter that was there with Jackson and Emma (in their house). Zane was quarantined in the guest house. I felt bad leaving Zane, but we figured he was better off alone rather than exposing us to those germs. (however, we all ended up catching it, so it didn't really matter)  We were so excited to be one of the first guests in the Kimbrough guest house, but we were bummed that Zane was sick. This wasn't part of our fun "plans...

After a few days of being home-bound due to a stomach bug and another day and a half spent putting away Christmas decorations, we were ready to do something and get out of the house. Lucky for us, the Percival gals were, too. So we spend the day at the museum in Ft. Worth. I find it interesting to go to museums or the zoo with friends because you discover new things. We tend to visit the same exhibits or take the same route whenever we go by ourselves. Friends add variety with their favorite exhibits. and of course, these 4 are entertainment just being themselves:)  Elizabeth and Gracie asked Garrett if he wanted to try this bed of nails. He said yes. When the bed started to rise he said with a smile (but he was serious) "I think I am changing my mind!".   The G's...  Gus in front of the huge Lite Brite  This was Gus's favorite. You took coffee filters and made flying objects as you placed them on...

Post-Christmas Fun

if you crawl around on hospital floors while visitng your new baby cousin, you will probably catch a stomach bug....and that's just what happened to Gussers. Luckily it was short, from about 1-4 am and when he woke up at 8:30 a.m. he was hungry, thirsty and feeling fine. Papa fixing some rotted boards on the swing set  We checked out the Dead Sea Scroll exhibit at Southwestern Seminary in FW. It was very interesting and so hard to wrap your mind around the age of the artifacts. It wasn't very kid-friendly (no strollers) so Gus was a hand-ful. Poor Nana took gus, waiting in line with him, and chased him so Zane and I could go through the exhibit.  Garrett working on his archaeological skills.  afterwards we visited our most favorite christmas toy: Stella! Garrett is officially a baby-hog. He wants to hold her all the time.  Nana and her boys wrestling  all the boys and Stella the boys were wild ...
