Charlotte's Web

A few months ago, I bought Garrett and me tickets to see Charlotte's Web at Casa Manana in Ft. Worth. The date kind of snuck upon us, but we were both excited to see the play. This was Garrett's first time at a play.
Garrett got to pick a restaurant for lunch since this was our "Valentine's date". He hadn't chosen a place, so we waited until we got close to the theater to decide. We drove by this place, and he spotted the fish tank from the street. I've eaten there a few times and really liked it. Ironically, the name of the restaurant is "Blue" and he has been a bit obsessed with the color blue lately.

They gave us a table with a perfect vantage point of the fish tanks. It made for interesting conversation.
He ate. and ate. and ate. He got miso soup, a cooked shrimp roll, and edamame.
There was tofu in his miso soup. When he asked what it was I told him it was fake meat. That didn't deter him. He ate every piece in the soup.
He ate all 6 pieces of his shrimp roll. I rigged his chopsticks with a rubberband and the man next to us suggested using a napkin spacer, so he was a champ with the eating utensils.

his funniest moment of the day: as we were leaving, the table next to us gave him a flower (their huge sushi assortment came with a flower display). So Garrett carries the flower out and then asks me to put it in his lapel (too much Mary Poppins, possibly). I did, and then he said "look mom. now I'm a married duy (guy)".
Finally, it was time for the show. Garrett had so many questions about the "movie". His second funny was when he asked why Gus couldn't come with us. I said because Gus was too little. Garrett replied "but, mom... he gets to go to rodeos and gun shows".
We loved it, and Garrett paid attention the entire time. It was about 1 hours and 15 minutes long. Even though he knew the story of Charlotte's Web, seeing a real live person playing Charlotte caused him some sadness when Charlotte died. Thankfully, the play ended soon after, and when Charlotte came back onto stage for the encore, he said "there she is. she didn't die!". He also asked how the little girl (Fern) changed her clothes so fast.
We highly recommend it!!
